SYDNEY CHAMBER CHOIR : CARMINA BURINA AT CITY RECITAL HALL ON 22 MARCH 2026 AT 3PM

Few works command such instant recognition as Carl Orff’s CARMINA BURANA. From the electrifying opening ‘O Fortuna’ to moments of shimmering tenderness, this choral masterpiece celebrates the passions, fortunes and follies of life with irresistible energy. Performed in the dynamic version for two pianos and percussion that Orff created, it comes vividly to life with three outstanding soloists and the pure, luminous sound of Sydney Children’s Choir.

Balancing Orff’s exuberance are Nardi Simpson’s Dharriwaa – Narran Lakes Dreaming and Paul Stanhope’s I am Martuwarra, two Australian works that celebrate in language and song deep connections to Country, alongside David Conte’s radiant and lyrical Invocation and Dance.
