If you have a well-developed sense of the ridiculous, you are likely to enjoy the French movie, ON MY WAY.

ON MY WAY tells the story of Bettie (Catherine Deneuve), a woman in her early sixties. Jilted by her lover, she is left alone to deal with the financial problems facing her family’s restaurant. She gets into her car to go for a drive to get away from it all. But the journey does not turn out as planned: driven by a nicotine addiction she has some strange chance meetings.

An ex Miss France event sees her posing for a calendar- fully clothed, she renews ties with her estranged daughter as well as spending time bonding with her little known grandson. The drive extends to close to a week, with Bettie still wearing the same clothes throughout. At the end of the road there is new love and new horizons.

This slightly bizarre chain of events in the plot are made plausible by the fine acting of all lead characters and the photography of the French countryside leads us to believe it is all possible.
