This unique new show by Robyn Sharp is her response to the devastating fires that Australia suffered at the beginning of the year. Her theme is one of hope and renewal with many of the images inspired by a recent visit to the Morton National Park and by her own valley.
Robyn is a well-known artist who lives in Foxground on the beautiful south coast of NSW. Her home is off the grid and nested in a sylvan valley with regenerated rainforest. Her land is replete with lyre birds, wallabies, king parrots, wombats and echidnas.
A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Robyn has developed her practice since the 1980s. Moving back to Foxground after living and exhibiting abroad for fifteen years, Robyn’s interests evolved from figurative sculpture and life studies to exploration of her beautiful environment in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.
The exhibition is to take place at the Corner Gallery on the corner of Percival Road and Myrtle Street, Stanmore. It will run from Thursday 19 November until Monday 30 November. A welcome event, open to all, will be held on Saturday 21 November at 1pm.
