SUE MEYER’S ARTIST STATEMENT
My new work was painted during and after lockdown in Sydney when the privilege of walking along the Eastern Suburbs foreshores became a daily coping mechanism. The lockdown intensified my observations of the beauty of the Sydney coastline. It brought hope and lightness to a time of social distancing, hypervigilance and introspection.
My works are expressions of my experiences and what I observe around me. I seek to understand what lies beneath the observable, reflecting the depth of nature with its delicacy & strength, unpredictability & contrasts.
