Dendy Cinemas Newtown will be releasing the debut feature documentary, MARTHA: A PICTURE STORY. Dendy Newtown will also be hosting an exclusive Q&A with the women herself Martha Cooper, on December 14.
MARTHA: A PICTURE STORY follows photographer Martha Cooper. Director Selina Miles’ explores how Martha captured some of the first vivid images of graffiti, that appeared on New York’s subway carriages, in the 1970’s.
Decades later, Martha realised she’d become an unexpected icon of the street art world. Her visionary photography inspired the spread of graffiti around the globe. Now, at age 75, Martha navigates her way through a vastly changed world.
WINNER of the Audience Award for BEST DOCUMENTARY – MARTHA: A PICTURE STORY will release at Dendy Cinemas Newtown on November 28.
