sculpture using collected objects- a weekend workshop with anita larkin

Anita Larkin
Sydney sculptor Anita Larkin

Anita Larkin has a special interest in the narrative associations that can be made from the found object and uses this as a beginning to develop sculptures.

A small-scale sculpture provides an opportunity to gather a viewer in close to an artwork, providing an intimate personal experience, drawing attention to small surface details.

This workshop will explore various simple mechanical methods of joining found objects together and skills needed in working with very diverse materials.

This will include basic assemblage techniques, drilling, screwing, riveting, and using fillers to model shapes and to join objects.

This is a workshop of creating alchemy, of animating the inanimate, of creating story and sculpture out of discarded objects.

DATES
Saturday 23rd April to Sunday 24th April 10am-4pm at the Sydney Art Space.
