sydney ball: 1963-1973 works from the estate @ sullivan and strumpf sydney

Over five decades Sydney Ball investigated over and again the possibilities of colour and form, producing a prodigious body of work comprising nineteen series, each distinctly progressive and unique.

Beyond his own career, the fresh ideas and energy that he brought back to Australia inspired a generation of young artists. Ball is acknowledged by art historian Christopher Heathcote as “the artist who managed to swing the momentum of the entire [Australian] art scene”.

Sydney Ball: 1963-1973 Works from the Estate runs July 30 to August 15 at Sullivan+Strumpf Sydney, 799 Elizabeth Street, Zetland.

]The exhibition is available to view online, at sullivanstrumpf.com/exhibitions/2020-sydney/sydney-ball/art/works.
