Prepare to immerse yourself into a reimagined and nostalgic journey to The Land of OZ. Wands, witches and whisky. Oh My!
A storm brews in Kansas as Dorothy steps out to warn us. We quickly dust ourselves off from the hay stacks we’ve been resting our laurels on. The excitement building as we make it through the twister to The Land of Oz! Scattered Scarecrow frantically greets us asking us to quickly pick a country that determines our journey for the night.
Not realising the Land of Oz has so many countries we land in Quadling Country with 4 other strangers realising we aren’t in Kansas anymore! We’ve all lost our memory and we have to work together to create a potion that will allow us to remember where we are…
Dorothy is heartfully concerned for us to figure this out. Scarecrow is trying their hardest to help everyone remember without a brain. Tip, a playful soul, is making sure no one misses a clue to the puzzles. Be warned, the wicked & witty witch is happy to see you fail this spell.
In the end, you will walk out with your memory and it will be full of excitement, laughter, new friends and a tasty cocktail (or mocktail).
With a rotating cast of talented and passionate theatre actors you will be sure to have a different experience every time.
Praise to the cast on Saturday night 13th September, for their quick witted improv skills to fully engage the participating audience in the interactive theatre production. Everyone stayed in character until the moment you left Oz, allowing you to feel you are really part of the production.
The Sydney Fringe Festival presents around 450 events in the month of September each year. This one invites you to be one of the characters and remember how valuable play is for all ages.
It will also highlight how collaborative you can be with strangers when solving puzzles leads to a cauldron full of cocktails, I mean potion.
I saw the performance that took place on Saturday 13th September 2025.
The immersive Sydney Fringe Festival Event, Dorothy In Oz by Alex Wregg, runs until the 28th of September 2025 located at the Marrickville Town Hall.
