viva la frida – the revolution @ quay quarters

Inspired by Frida Kahlo’s infamous parties of yore, the Milpa Collective Hospitality Group will be taking guests on a journey of discovery and history through performance art later this month.

With 5 acts showcasing different elements of Frida’s life, inspiration and her love for performance art, you will see some of Sydney’s best talent and diversity.

The menu will feature dishes that habitually made it onto Ms Kahlo’s dinner party menu, including Guacamole, chicharron crackling and chips, 8 hour Braised chamorro osso bucco, Mexican gnocchi chochoyotes, Jicama Salad with radicchio and butter lettuce, Crushed potatoes with duck fat and garlic chips, plus a special traditional Mexican dessert, buñuelos with pineapple sorbet infused with Milpa’s in-house Mezcal.

After 10:30pm the dining room will transform into a dance floor, with 1940’s electronic swing beats playing non-stop until 2am, giving patrons the opportunity to truly feast and party like Frida, in the beautiful heritage building named after the artist herself.

  • What: Dinner, variety show & after party
