‘Walk On Water’ is a engaging Israeli drama that was made some years ago. The main character is a Mossad security agent who is given a job which causes him some real soul searching. He is asked to befriend a young german brother and sister so that he can get to their grandfather, who mossad believes is still alive and was a leading Nazi. He is already finding it hard after his old girlfriend dropped him when she found out he worked for Mossad.

He gets too close to the ‘couple’, develops feelings for the sister and forms a close bond with the brother which involves going into the dead Sea together. He does get his oportunity to carry out his assigmment when he is invited to germany for a family celebration but there’s a question mark whether he will be able to carry out his assignment.

‘walk on water’ is, of course, not a new story. there are many movies with the theme of the cold hearted killer who in some way reforms, amd develops a heart. This film was well directed and performed, and with the background of the arab israeli conflict, and the dark spectre of the holocaust, ‘walk on water’ worked well. There were some twists at the end which added to the film’s strength. Recommended.
